They say a picture is worth a thousand words. If that is the case, then I have more than a thousand words with all the pictures I have. As I look through all my photos, I smile remembering all the memories that were created. Here are my top ten photos, and their stories.
In 2000, I was able to see *NSYNC on their No Strings Attached tour. When tickets went on sale, I called ticket master right away, only to get a busy tone. After trying to get through to ticket master, I finally decided to ask my Papap if he could get tickets for me. “I’ll try my best,” he replied. After I got off the phone, I went to Knottsberry Farm with my family, my babysitter, and her 5 children. Later that night, when I got home, there was a message from Papap, saying that he got tickets for me. I was excited. On June 9th, I was so excited about seeing *NSYNC, I could hardly concentrate on school. When school let out, I raced home and got ready for the concert. My mom, sister and I headed for Pasadena, where *NSYNC was performing.
When we got to the venue, I noticed there were a lot of people there already. Once we were in the venue and found our seats, I bought a poster and tour book. The opening acts at our show were Sisqo and Pink. I don’t remember what Pink sang, but Sisqo performed his hit song, Thong song. Finally, after the opening acts performed, the lights went down and *NSYNC made their grand entrance. They opened the concert with No Strings Attached and ended the show with Bye Bye Bye. *NSYNC’s dance moves were incredible, and their harmonies were perfect. I screamed and danced the entire time. My favorite part of the concert was when they performed Teain’ Up My Heart. When they did their “When I say N you say SYNC” part of the song, I screamed “SYNC” very loudly. By the end of the concert, I was so excited, I could hardly sleep. It took a while to get out of the parking lot, and by the time we got home, it was 2 in the morning.
New York to see the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with grandma. Since she was a little girl, grandma had wanted to see to parade in person, so as a Christmas gift, mom got her tickets for a New York bus tour. I went with grandma, to keep her company. When we got to New York, I noticed how tall the buildings were. The parade was amazing, and the balloons were bigger in person. After the parade was over, grandma and I explored the city. We saw Rockefeller Center, and saw the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. Grandma and I ended up missing the bus, so they had to turn around and come back and get us. I loved spending the day with grandma.
In 2008, I had my first book published. Ever since I was in first grade, I knew I wanted to be a writer. I would make up stories, and illustrate them. I got my first book, "Called 2 Wait," published. To celebrate, we had a book signing party, and invited all my friends and family. I sold a lot of books that day. Holding my book in my hand made me feel like I accomplished something.
I always dreamt of becoming a dolphin trainer, and in 2014, I got to fulfill that dream. It was a fun experience. As a Christmas gift, mom took me to the Baltimore Aquarium, where I had my dolphin experience. During the Dolphin Encounter, I learned about different parts of the dolphin, and got the chance to touch him. Once I got acquainted with the dolphin, Foster, I got to train him. Foster performed a few tricks that I taught him. Afterwards, I had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.
Since 2008, I wanted to meet the Jonas Brothers. On September 6th, 2015, I got the chance to meet him. After checking into VIP, we were directed to go downstairs, where they had everything set up for the meet&greet; it reminded of school pictures. Right before the meet & greet began, the Host VIP rep went over the rules for the meet & greet:
1. have our cellphone cameras ready, so that they could take our pictures.
2. No hugs, because they don't want Nick getting sick, which is understandable.
3. If we brought any gifts for Nick, to leave them in the bag that they had on the table.
By this point, I was getting nervous. Thankfully, Lisa Tiffany helped calm me down. The meet&greet was kind of rushed, but when it was my turn to meet Nick, I hesitated a little. After his team gave me some encouragement, I handed my phone to the host rep, and walked right up to Nick. "Hi, thanks for coming." Nick said, as he shook my hand. After the Host rep took our picture, she gave my phone back to me, and I headed upstairs to wait for the concert to begin. I was still shaking after I met him.
I got to attend the post-show toast. Seconds after Nick tweeted about having an amazing show, I saw him walking up the stairs, joining the fans for the post-show toast. He stopped at our table first, and asked if we enjoyed the show. I told him that I loved it. After talking to everyone, Nick came back to my table and signed the cd I had in my hand. Then we did the group photo. After the host rep took the group photo, everyone except for Nick, had to leave. Later that night, Nick posted the group photo to his Snapchat. It was the perfect ending to a perfect night.
Each of these photos has a memory, a story to tell. What stories do you have? Take a look at your pictures, and remember all the memories you’ve made.
