Ever since I discovered my interest in photography, I've been developing a passion for doing the best that I am capable of. I am not a professional photographer; I do it for the thrill and discovery.
When you scroll through your Instagram feed, you 'like' pictures. For me, this is a tool for improving the photos I take. I have a select number of favorite Instagrammers who I am inspired by. As I scroll through my feed, I will occasionally see a photo that moves me, one that is not only eye pleasing, but also sends a message. This is what drives me forward, finding new ways to make my photos that much better, like the inspiring ones these professional photographers take.
I feel that if you want to be one of those Instagrammers who has over 10k followers, you need to maintain a constant level of creativity in your posts. So every time I go out and shoot, I envision the pictures I want in my mind. The best part about taking photos is getting creative with how you position the shot. In order to execute those positions and get the shot you want, you need to know your camera’s settings inside and out. I recommend Henry Carroll’s "Read This If You Want to Take Great Photographs." It’s a great introduction book for first time DSLR users.
The following photos were taken by me on top of an abandoned warehouse in Worcester, MA. I hope these photos inspire you to go out and explore your city or surrounding area. As always, please be safe.
