What's one thing that most people nowadays have in common? We all seem to love our phones. Now, I can be guilty of this too. I mean, my phone is pretty cool. I can play games on it, jam out to music and even video call people.
However, I think that many people are almost addicted to their phones. If you look around you, how many people seem glued to their phones? Whether they're out enjoying a meal, at the mall or anywhere else, it seems like it's impossible for some people to put their phones down.
Now, like I said, I'm all for my phone, but isn't there a certain point when enough is enough? When did we begin to value what's on our screens more than having conversations with those around us? I can understand being on it occasionally, but it seems like more often than not phones replace face to face conversations.
Maybe I'm just weird, but I'd rather talk to people while I have the chance. The way I see it, whatever's on your phone will be there all day. You may only have a short time span during the day, or even week if you're busy enough, to spend with people you care about. Why would you want to waste the time you have to enjoy the company of others playing on your phone?
Besides, the more you look at your phone while you're hanging out with people, the less new content you have to read when you're bored by yourself. I don't know, I would just rather spend my sometimes very limited free time chatting with other people.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that being on your phone is the worst thing that you can do. Sometimes you're just tired or don't really want to talk, just sit and relax with people. All I'm suggesting is to try not making a habit out of it and try to make time you spend with people worthwhile.
