If you watch "Modern Family," one of your favorite characters has to be Phil Dunphy. He lightens the mood, he never fails to make you laugh, but most importantly: he's a cool dad. Phil prides himself in being a cool dad and is convinced that he would never do anything to embarrass his family.
Here are eight "pieces of advice" that prove Phil Dunphy is, in fact, a cool (and hysterical) dad:
Make sure other people respect you:
1.“I’ve been practicing like crazy all of my cowboy skills, shootin’, ropin’, pancake eatin’. Why? Because sometimes I feel like Jay doesn’t respect me as a man.”
Question authority:
2. “Why do I have to watch a French movie, I didn’t do anything wrong.”
Love (yourself):
3. “The iPad comes out on my actual birthday. It’s like Steve Jobs and God got together to say, 'We love you, Phil.'"
Be cultural:
4. “That was hardly porn. It was a topless woman on a tractor. You know what they call that in Europe? A cereal commercial."
When life gets hard...:
5. "When life gives you lemonade, make lemons. Life will be all like what?!?!"
Don't be afraid to make mistakes:
6. "I don't always make great decisions under pressure..."
Don't take things for granted:
7. "Dad, we haven't had lunch yet.""Neither have half the kids in Africa."
Be politically correct:
8. "Blind Side was the black kid that played tight end."
"Offensive Line."
"Sorry, African American kid."
