Moving back to school is a process without a doubt. There is so much you have to do in a little amount of time. You go through so many different emotions and you began to remember that you have to actually go to class again. It is exciting moving into a new place with friends and seeing the people you missed all summer. A new year may mean a more challenging one but nevertheless you still are super happy to back at your home away from home. Coming back to school can be equally the most stressful, exciting, and fun time all at the same time.
1. Freaking out over packing
[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F09%2F03%2F636084671249967466-2122175834_packing.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=33&h=6acc2f7a1ce55fc117d28923575e3185658674ec823454e41021c09950dc678b&size=980x&c=2777909425 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F09%252F03%252F636084671249967466-2122175834_packing.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D33%26h%3D6acc2f7a1ce55fc117d28923575e3185658674ec823454e41021c09950dc678b%26size%3D980x%26c%3D2777909425%22%7D" expand=1]
Packing sucks. You never know what you are really going to need or not. You also don't want to bring too much but then you do not want to be left with an empty room either. Sometimes this just leads to a meltdown and overpacking in the end.
2. Then dreading unpacking
[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F09%2F03%2F636084672398198988281746932_unpacking.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=552&h=fd26f76b77b69ec519fd3edabba5dd4347ef8dfc88bca94be48a88d4a31fe9fc&size=980x&c=1627712516 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F09%252F03%252F636084672398198988281746932_unpacking.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D552%26h%3Dfd26f76b77b69ec519fd3edabba5dd4347ef8dfc88bca94be48a88d4a31fe9fc%26size%3D980x%26c%3D1627712516%22%7D" expand=1]
Unpacking sucks too. Now you're mad at all the random things you thought were necessary to pack. You just have boxes everywhere and no where to put anything.
3. But feeling so happy once you've decorated everything
[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F09%2F03%2F636084674390974210931156678_decorating.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=68&h=8804dfc3c54a4c82165ab1123049e360507cbbbfad58952fa708131ff4cf161a&size=980x&c=881226950 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F09%252F03%252F636084674390974210931156678_decorating.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D68%26h%3D8804dfc3c54a4c82165ab1123049e360507cbbbfad58952fa708131ff4cf161a%26size%3D980x%26c%3D881226950%22%7D" expand=1]
Once you get your life semi-together, and the walls are decorated you begin to feel a little bit more relieved. Things don't look so bare and your room looks like someone actually lives there now.
4. Overall excitement of seeing your friends
[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F09%2F03%2F636084673006511531362814692_friends.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=311&h=ce84647466eef35d3d8f8474601cd1d2e1ee54d4a158ba57ef77775207d4c073&size=980x&c=2526251336 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F09%252F03%252F636084673006511531362814692_friends.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D311%26h%3Dce84647466eef35d3d8f8474601cd1d2e1ee54d4a158ba57ef77775207d4c073%26size%3D980x%26c%3D2526251336%22%7D" expand=1]
After a couple months away, your friends should just expect to get tackled. There is nothing like reuniting with friends after a long time away. You have to catch up on everything you have missed over the summer.
5. Re-adjusting to having cafeteria food or cooking for yourself
[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F09%2F03%2F636084676187743477-421199005_cooking.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=406&h=460af64bb33eb84bfc90fca79a29665e5b93157c824b87173ec76426b2a302b3&size=980x&c=586736420 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F09%252F03%252F636084676187743477-421199005_cooking.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D406%26h%3D460af64bb33eb84bfc90fca79a29665e5b93157c824b87173ec76426b2a302b3%26size%3D980x%26c%3D586736420%22%7D" expand=1]
Cooking is not your greatest skill so as soon as you move in every cooking adventure is a guessing game if you will burn your apartment or dorm down. Nothing compares to home-cooking and eating the same cafeteria food everyday will not get better...so getting yourself mentally prepared is a must.
6. Trying to make your sleeping schedule normal again
[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F09%2F03%2F636084681707936291-2030922217_sleep.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=546&h=e63fe33c0bc943e508da72354034370e713115b8eb660db816cebfcf79547619&size=980x&c=4217440528 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F09%252F03%252F636084681707936291-2030922217_sleep.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D546%26h%3De63fe33c0bc943e508da72354034370e713115b8eb660db816cebfcf79547619%26size%3D980x%26c%3D4217440528%22%7D" expand=1]
After staying up long nights and sleeping in, it is back to normal sleeping schedule. Trying to not fall asleep in class the first couple of weeks should be interesting.
7. Not to mention, getting used to going to class all the time instead of avoiding all your responsibilities
[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F09%2F03%2F636084682474551481-1704883710_.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=360&h=45ca7db31524a4b5d134960b5321c23a66162191f07557a6f35f8a850edeee17&size=980x&c=2173769488 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F09%252F03%252F636084682474551481-1704883710_.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D360%26h%3D45ca7db31524a4b5d134960b5321c23a66162191f07557a6f35f8a850edeee17%26size%3D980x%26c%3D2173769488%22%7D" expand=1]
You can't just be music festival hoping and trying not to look at books anymore. You have to get back in the groove of long nights writing papers instead of late night drives. You have to get used to more responsibility.
8. Lastly, enjoining drunk nights during Syllabus week with friends
[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F09%2F03%2F636084683650118814-967723057_drunk.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=495&h=134299e5c2c90233f14d966e4fa79f41da0aa6f7ca8e0d03af029a9e5dc66edb&size=980x&c=3705769047 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F09%252F03%252F636084683650118814-967723057_drunk.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D495%26h%3D134299e5c2c90233f14d966e4fa79f41da0aa6f7ca8e0d03af029a9e5dc66edb%26size%3D980x%26c%3D3705769047%22%7D" expand=1]
Nothing is like going out with your college friends again. Especially, during the easiest week in the year, you have to take advantage.
