10 Reasons Why Pets Are Better Than People

Sometimes, the best of friends are the ones with four legs, scales or fur. As I have gone through my 18 years of life, I have found that it is very easy for people to let you down. Whether it's your parents who yell at you for no reason, your friend group who leaves you out of plans or just a stranger who cuts you off while driving, it is easy to get angry at the human race. So, when your human friends let you down, turn to your furry friends! Here are 10 reasons why animals are better than people.

1. They know when you're sad.

You could be frustrated, tired or just plain sad and your animal will pick up on that right away. They will never leave your side until they are positive you're okay.

2. They are always down to hang out.

If it's going for a walk, just watching a movie or playing some basketball, your pet is up for anything. They just want to do whatever you're doing.

3. They only have you.

Your pet has a very small world, so they will never leave you. You know the feeling is always mutual with them- they are your best friend and you're theirs.

4. They are the best listeners.

You could rant to them FOR HOURS! They won't stop you, they wont interrupt you, they won't try and give pointless advice. They just listen.

5. They can't talk.

You want to go for a walk? You want to binge watch Netflix? You want to vent your problems without being interrupted? Well, that's no problem considering your animal can't interject their ideas, everything is up to you. (Although, I'm sure we all agree that we wish we knew what they would say if they could talk.)

6. They only stay mad at you for short periods of times.

You could accidentally step on your pet, ignore him for days or forget to feed them and it's almost impossible for them to stay mad at you. Unlike humans, who hold grudges forever.

7. You can only stay mad at them for a short period of time.

Not matter what our pets do, we will always forgive them within the hour — if not minutes. You can never stay mad at their adorable little faces!

8. They are the best at cheering you up.

It's late and you're tired, but here comes your little animal. They are there to just curl up next to you and help make your problems go away — at least temporarily.

9. They are always there to entertain you.

Your pet knows the perfect time when you need to be entertained. They are always there with a goofy trick or some funny move that will leave you with a smile on your face.

10. They will always be your best friend.

With their undivided loyalty, their goofy little quirks and their easy ways to cheer you up, you know that no matter how long your pet lives, they will always be your best friend.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
