Earlier this year, rumors swirled that "One Tree Hill" would be leaving Netflix. At the time, those rumors were false but fast forward a few months later... it seems as if the "rumors" were too good to be true. Unfortunately, "One Tree Hill" will be removed from Netflix on October 1. It's happening.
And no, fans are NOT taking it very well.
The moment the news was released, fans were raging with anger. In fact, many Netflix users are threatening to cancel their subscriptions if Netflix goes through with removing the popular show.
Although One Tree Hill was recently just voted the best throwback show at the Teens Choice Awards, Netflix is still breaking hearts.
I myself, am heart broken with the news. I have been a One Tree Hill fan ever since I can remember. About two years ago, one of my close friends kept raving about OTH and how good it was. I watched all 9 seasons in a two-month time period.
One of the great things about One Tree Hill is that there are so many life lessons ingrained within the show and every story line behind each character.
Since One Tree Hill fans only have until October 1, I have constructed many reasons why One Tree Hill should remain on Netflix:
1. There is something for everyone.
Whether you are in the mood for romance, drama, suspense, or comedy, "One Tree Hill" has it all. There are no dull moments in Tree Hill.
2. It's very relatable.
One Tree Hill has every type of character in the book. The mean popular girl, the shy nerdy girl, the popular jock who gets all the girls, and the one's who's into music and art. It shows the struggles of high school and everyday life that many can relate to.
3. Friendship. Goals.
Nothing compares to the friendships of "One Tree Hill".
4. Lucas Scott.
5. Nathan Scott.
Oh, we know you're sexy, Nathan.
6. Best. Love Triangle. Ever.
Are you team #leyton or team #brucas?
7. The Crazy Characters.
Ian Banks, Nanny Carrie, Katie Ryan, Deb Scott, and Dan Scott; all crazy. How could we not miss a chance of watching Peyton's stalker, or Nanny Carrie- your typical try to seduce the husband nanny? Don't even get me started on Dan Scott. This man was probably the bane of most viewers' existences. I think every OTH fan has a love/hate relationship with him.
8. Coach Whitey Durham.
9. OTH teaches us that labels do not define you.
During high school, we are all given labels. The jocks, the nerds, the cheerleaders, and in addition, other labels are given. Brooke Davis overcame these labels she received in high school showing fans that labels do not define you.
10. NALEY.
AKA Nathan Scott and Haley James. The most perfect couple ever; the couple I aspire to someday be with my future husband. #RELATIONSHIPGOALS.
11. Jamie Scott.
Tell me he is not just the cutest thing?
12. *The* Brooke Davis.
Brooke Davis; fiercely independent, gorgeous, smart, and driven. She was the girl every OTH fan wanted to be. Brooke was the ultimate goal, as a friend, girlfriend, boss, wife or even mother. Clothes > Bro's, am I right?
13. Haley, Peyton and Brooke's Friendship.
14. Marvin McFadden... AKA Mouth.
15. One Tree Hill gives us hope.
Through out the series "One Tree Hill" goes through very difficult challenges. Whether it be death, sickness, or depression the characters push through. These are all real things that people experience. The show reminds us that there is always hope and light at the end of the tunnel.
Just think about missing out on all of these wonderful things about One Tree Hill. Viewers who have never seen the show, will not be able to relate to any of these wonderful scenarios or characters.
We will never hear the famous theme song by Gavin Degraw ever again. THANK YOU FOR DISAPPOINTING US, NETFLIX.
If you're feeling just as shocked and heartbroken as I am right now, just remember....
