You are that person. You believe in the truth. You believe in showing others your honest feelings. You believe in sharing your story. You always open your heart and you let the whole world in.

You would tell anyone your darkest secrets in hopes that he or she will keep them confidential. You never consider the possibility of others turning on you, even though you have been left in the dust countless times. You are knocked down by the people who you think care, and your trust is broken. But still, at the end of the day, you choose to let a new person in. You never give up.

You are brave, and I hope you never forget how much courage you have. You sometimes run because leaving has become safer for you. When you take the time to heal, you find someone new to open up to. Some day, that person will make you feel safe enough to stay.

You are kind, and you make a difference in others’ lives. You are admired for your genuine connection with everyone around you. However, your quickness to feel is sometimes scary to others. Your honesty is the brutal truth to some, and not everyone can handle that. You have learned to keep people in your life who value the same authenticity.

You are strong, and have overcome more than most. You know that pain is relative, so you are patient with others. You always give the people who hurt you the benefit of the doubt. You never expect others to have cruel intentions, so you tend to be thought of as naive. You understand the possibility of disappointment, but have learned to let go of expectations to avoid that feeling. You always cling to hope and the possibility that the best could happen, even if it does not.

You are loved and valued more than you think. You have doubted your ability to connect because of the many times that you have been let down. But the downfalls have also encouraged you to share more of your heart. Instead of hiding, you made the decision to face the fear of getting hurt. You learn from every heartbreak that you experience, which brings you one step closer to the person you are meant to be with.

You wear your heart on your sleeve, but that just means you know how to love unconditionally and bountifully. Please, for everyone’s sake, keep it there.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
