Over spring break, I went to the University of Texas at Austin to visit my brother and I had so much fun. There were so many restaurants, coffee bars, study spots, and even amazing science labs!
Before I could actually enjoy the campus I had to struggle to find my way around campus because UT is literally called "40 acres" and, while it's cool it's so big, it was not fun to be lost. It has now been two times I have been lost on that campus and the only perk is that nobody can tell if you're lost or not.
1. You don't get lost
Well, you could, but once you know your campus well enough, it is impossible to get lost!
2. You recognize many faces around campus
Getting to know people is exponentially easier when you see strangers around campus on a daily basis going to class or the library.
3. Being close with your professors
Students have the chance to become close to their professors and getting more opportunities for internships, jobs, and letters of recommendation.
4. Small classes
This is definitely a little overplayed but it really is an amazing perk. Your peers become your friends and the community that you build helps you pass because it creates a safety net.
6. Involvement
If you are looking to attend post-graduate schools like law school, business school, or medical school, being on a small campus gives you the opportunity to be involved to a level that wouldn't be possible on a larger campus.
7. Friendships
Lifetime friendships can be made in all colleges and universities, but none like at smaller schools, and this is because you keep touch with all your friends and they also make time for you.
