8 Perks Of Having A Roommate With The Same Major
Phase Eight

College is a time for studying, stressing and having fun all at the same time. Who better to share all of these feelings with than the friends within your major?

The best feeling, though, is when your roommate has the same major as you. Having someone who lives down the hall and takes the same classes as you has a lot of benefits.

Here is why having a roommate with the same major is an amazing thing.

1. You have a constant study companion.

Whenever there is a big exam coming up, it is always nice to have someone there to study with you in case you are confused about something.

Also, it is likely that your roommate will also share their study guide, so you can catch up on anything you might have missed for the exam.

2. They are always there to share the same struggles.

Stressed about homework? At least you know that your roommate is probably feeling the same way, and all you have to do is walk into their room to complain about everything that goes on in your major.

3. You have someone to take classes with.

When you and your roommate share the same major, you are likely to make similar schedules together. You know that it will be easier to take the same classes so that you can double team on assignments and projects.

4. You always have a group partner.

It is great to have a class with your roommate. It is greater when you and your roommate get to be group partners together.

You don’t have to drive anywhere to work on the project since you live together.

5. You have someone to ask for the answers to your questions.

If you are ever in doubt of a homework question, you know that you have the answer 10 feet away from you. It is a comforting feeling to walk down the hall to work on an assignment with your roommate instead of having to text and call several other people to seek their help.

You also don’t ever have to worry about annoying your roommate with the 100 questions you ask daily about assignments.

6. Joining the same clubs and organizations together.

When you need extracurricular activities on your resume, it is nice to know that your roommate does too. You two do basically everything together, including joining the same organizations.

7. You’re together so much that people think you two are siblings.

When you and your roommate share the same major, sometimes people get confused as to whether you two are related or not. You laugh every time this happens because you start to realize how much time you guys actually spend together.

8. You have someone to celebrate with.

Even though school can be hard, when you and your roommate make it through a tough week, you always have each other to celebrate and de-stress with.

Overall, it is nice to know that you aren’t alone when it comes to school. Having a roommate with the same major just makes things a little bit easier.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
