Being an older sibling can be a tough thing. Being the oldest sibling to a few younger siblings is even harder. For girls, the sibling rivalry can be intense, but nothing is better than having a sister to turn to when you need someone. A sister can be your worst nightmare one minute, and your best friend the next. Here are 13 perks of being the oldest sister:

1. Every “first” you had meant the world to your parents.

By the second or third kid, it just wasn’t as impressive.

2. All the photo albums are filled with pictures of you as a baby.

3. You never had their hand me down clothes.

4. There was always someone to pick on when you were having a rough day.

5. There is always someone to blame when your parents get mad.

6. You were in charge of your siblings whenever mom and dad stepped away.

7. You got to drive first.

8. You learned how to give really great advice because your younger sisters always came to you for some.

9. You have the ability to force your sisters to hang out with you if your plans fall through.

10. You always have someone’s closet to raid if your clothes weren’t good enough.

And they cant even fight it because odds are that it was yours first.

11. Being the oldest means that you are a natural born leader.

12. You will always get shotgun.

13. You have younger sisters that idolize you…even if they constantly deny it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
