It's a struggle when the sun is one of your favorite entities and you rarely get to see it. Being ridiculously tired when you need to do normal people things during the day also isn't a walk in the park. As far as my eating schedule, I eat breakfast before bed. However, as much as I struggle with being my sleep patterns, being nearly nocturnal isn't all bad.
1. Productivity
Call me crazy, but there's something about the world being asleep and me being awake that makes me want to get stuff done. At this point most of your friends are asleep, social media is practically dead, and there really isn't much going on, so why not take advantage. Whether it's studying, homework or a project, I feel like I get a lot done in these hours of the night.
2. Perspective
So, How I Met Your Mother taught us "Nothing good happens after 2am" and while I wouldn't say that's completely true I can see why this applies to some situations. People can be completely different right before they go to bed and when they first wake up. Priorities are different at the end of a long day and at the start of a fresh one. Personalities can be different too. All I know is I can think something over all night come to this great conclusion, and in the morning I think the complete opposite. Throughout the day I do things, some mindlessly, some with a purpose, yet at night is when I really think.
3. Creativity
When I'm up at night I always want to do something or make something or learn something. Any instrument I remotely know how to play is thanks to being nocturnal. I'll write short stories, poems ,songs, plays, anything. They'll never leave my notebook but it's a great outlet. Sometimes you have no idea what you're feeling until you write it out or draw it in some way. I love to paint, or even just color. I love to play piano and sing songs at night, picking the songs that already say what I want to say for me, it is the perfect way to blow off some steam.
4. Adventures
Just because stores are closed and the majority of the world is sleeping, doesn't mean everyone is and it doesn't mean you have to sit in your room. Gather up your friends and do something fun, there's only so many hours in a day, so take advantage of all time.
5. Conversation
There's something so nice about conversation that happens at this time, I think it's that without the distractions of daytime life It's easier to focus on what someone is actually saying to you. A lot of people talk for the sake of talking and there is nothing wrong with that, but I find that a lot of philosophical minds come out at night. A lot of people do a lot of thinking, and a tired mind is a little less guarded with those thoughts, and I think thats beautiful. I think a world full of people saying what they actually want to say ,and saying what they mean could be a wonderful thing.
