8 Perks Of Attending The Same University As Your Sibling

College is a time of growth, independence and learning. It can be a scary place when you are all alone, but hopefully, if you are one of the lucky few, you got the chance to experience it with your sibling. It is a long ride full of ups and downs but your sibling is always there to catch you when you fall. Hopefully, you find these eight perks helpful when deciding if you should attend the same University as your sibling.

1. If you are out of laundry detergent, your siblings room

Between classes and club meetings you are bound to not notice when you have used up the last of your laundry detergent. Eventually you will get around to Dollar General, but for now, your siblings dorm room contains a full bag of Tide Pods that is calling your name.

2.) Their closet is your closet

Your dorm room closet is not always the biggest, so running out of clothes to wear is a typical problem you will encounter. Your sibling's closet is full of great new clothing pieces that you can wear at any time, and don't feel bad because chances are your parents paid for it all.

3. When your roommate is annoying, your sibling has a futon with your name on it

One thing college has taught me is that futons can be very comfortable. Having a roommate is not full of laughter, sharing secrets and pillow fights. It comes with its fair share of arguments and drama. Luckily your sibling has their futon folded out with a pillow and blanket ready for you to sleep.

4. When you run out of money, you're sibling's wallet is always close by

Pay-day is the best day for any broke college student, then the weekend comes and you're left with $2.33 to your name. It's a good thing you have your sibling close by who doesn't mind loaning you a few bucks to get that pizza you've been craving.

5. They are the first person you call when you are stranded on a Saturday night

Lets be honest, we are in college and Saturday night is the night for some fun. We have all had that one, two, maybe three nights that just don't go as planned. Thankfully, you have your responsible sibling to pick you up at any drunken hour of the night.

6. They're always up for late night fast food runs

In college, every night is a late night, whether that be because you are up late doing homework, or finishing the season finale of "Grey's Anatomy." It hits midnight and your stomach is growling, so who do you call? Your sibling who is sitting alone in their dorm room just as hungry as you.

7. When you fail your first college course, they are the ones to break the bad news to your parents

It is rare to make it through college without failing at least one college course. Breaking that news to your parents is one of the scariest things to do. Luckily your sibling understands your pain and is there to help you break the news to your parents.

8. They are your best friend

Your sibling has been there for you your entire life; they know you better than anyone else. You share the same last name and share the same family traditions. Going to college is a scary new adventure, and having your sibling/best friend there makes things so much easier. So, if you're one of the few lucky ones, give your sibling an extra hug when you see them on campus.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
