Why do you go to the coffee shop? To grab a quick cup before work? Having a delicious treat on the weekend? These are probably both true. But coffee shops have quite a lot of other perks that you might not have thought about.
1. The coffee.
Okay, this one is pretty obvious. Most people go to the coffee shop for coffee or some other assorted drink. And let's be honest, most of the time they’re better than homemade coffee.
2. The pastries.
Delicious fluffy yumminess! This can be your breakfast most of the time. And honestly, they’re so much better when they’re warmed up.
3. The atmosphere.
You can just feel it when you walk in. The smell of coffee, the sound of beans being ground up, and the low rumble of people talking to each other. This is just a great place to be; you can feel it.
4. The Wi-Fi.
This is a pretty big perk. You cannot walk into a coffee house without seeing at least (most of the time more than) one person on their laptop using the Wi-Fi. This is where you go when the Wi-Fi in your house has decided that it’s going to stop working. Trust me, we’ve all done this.
5. A meeting place.
This is such a great place to have meetings. Who wants to be in a stuffy old office? Certainly not me! I’d definitely prefer to come somewhere else. And, you get coffee on the side! It sounds like a win-win to me!
6. You never know who you’ll find there.
A good friend taught me this, and it’s truer than I realized. The other day I ran into someone that I went to high school with in a coffee shop. You might find old friends that you haven’t seen in ages there. You really never know, so keep your eyes open.
7. A fun hangout spot.
I was lucky and had a Starbucks across the street from my high school, so this is where everybody went on Friday. I still go there today to hang out with friends by grabbing a quick drink and talking for hours. It’s a great place to be.
8. The people.
The people working there are always so nice to you when you walk in. Depending on where you go, they might also remember you and your order. The other people that are there are always so different and yet they’re all here for the same reason: coffee!
9. The people-watching.
You’re lying if you say you’ve never done this. Everyone people watches! And you’ll never see more interesting characters than the ones that come in for coffee.
10. The workplace.
I always get this intense sense of productivity when I’m in a coffee shop. Everyone working on their laptops or having meetings are there to get things done. I always feel like I NEED to be working when I sit down in a coffee shop. It certainly helps my productivity level.
11. The location.
It’s always near something. You would never find a coffee shop, whether a huge chain or a small neighborhood spot, in the middle of nowhere. You can always see that there is something else around them that you can go to as well. That’s pretty smart thinking.
So there you are, the perks of coffee shops. It doesn’t matter if it’s a name brand like Starbucks or if it’s the cute neighborhood stop around the corner, these perks are all the same no matter where you go.
