How To Accessorize Your Vanity Table

Every girl wants a perfect vanity table. A table where they can put their favorite make up products, trinkets, heavenly perfume, and sumptuous jewelry. But want makes every vanity table special is its uniqueness, its own personal style, while reflects that of its designer. In order to get a perfect vanity table, all you technically need to do is follow what you want and to create it. Every vanity table is different. If you aim at designing and decorating your vanity table after one placidly printed in a magazine, you are losing the point of creating something that has meaning to you! Of course you can get ideas and inspiration this way, but to copy it from inch to inch, from all the products to the jewelry boxes, you are sadly missing out of all the fun.

You are bound every day, to wake up in the morning and sit in front of your vanity table looking at yourself in the mirror, thinking in your head, “What am I going to do with myself today?” You want everything to be laid out in front of you something you put there, weather intentionally or not. For example, I love collaging. On my vanity table I have a stack of magazines that I always browse through, while I let my moisturizer softly soak into my skin. That is what makes my vanity table uniquely mine. It has a youthful and yet disorganized character to it, that my mom’s vanity for example doesn’t have.

While I sport a more mixture of randomly collected things from around the house or from places I’ve been, my mom retains this very sophisticated yet timeless edge to her vanity table, which makes it distinctly hers. She accessorizes her vanity through antique found objects and these elegant long candles that frame her mirror.

Candles, I personally think are a must for vanities. They casts this romantic and timeless quality, to where you feel as if you are a princess locked in a tower, without a single care and all the time in the world. On my vanity, on top of a stack of books (I have them stacked to where you see their pages rather than their spines, I find it more interesting that way) I have the Jo Molone Candle. A single sniff of this candle is a sweet transportation away from the worries of life. The thing is, find a candle that suits you. Find a candle that you are infatuated with. The smell should be almost spell bounding once your nostrils garner a sniff of the fragrance.

Something else, every vanity table should have something on the lines of, are body lotions and body powder. Get which ever you want. As for me, I’m resting currently with the Thymes Olive Leaf hand lotion. The creamy lotion sinks into your skin and leaves your body in a shimmering cloud. Many people usually don’t use body powder these days, but I find it to be very useful after loathing myself in lotion, and then having the issue of getting stuck to everything. Patting this Thymes Gold Leaf body powder over you skin, you are keeping the natural smell but taking away the sticky feeling.

My aunt’s vanity is much different from both my mom’s and myself. This again refers to my argument that every vanity table should be different from each other. She is an artist, so her assortment of brushes and make up palettes piled up in her drawers are reminiscent of her paint in her studio. Though she has decorative boxes that hold her jewelry and other accessories, her layout is undeniably her own.

I hope after reading this and with the few visuals that I have provided, you will take it upon yourself to add your own spice and character to wherever you put your make up on. A vanity table is much more than just a place to site in front of and look narcissistically at yourself in the mirror. It’s a place where you can socialize with your friends before parties or during sleep overs. A place where you can listen to your music and sketch or finish your last homework assignment. A vanity table is essential in a girl’s life, and I hope you make it uniquely your own.

XOXO

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
