The Perfect DIY Gift For Your Favorite Teacher Or Mentor

This year for Christmas I gave three of my favorite teachers from High School a really cool DIY gift. It's real easy to do too! What you'll need:

- A glass bottle or a vase. but I found it cuter to use a bottle.

-Fake flowers

-coins small enough to fit through the neck of your bottle/vase, I used pennies.

-decorations, like stickers (if you want)

-paper to write your message on

How to:

Step 1

If you're using a glass bottle, I had plenty lying around from previous Pops trips, you might want to take the labels off. You'll want a container that's tall enough to cover the label of the bottle. You'll need to put some soap in the bottom and then put enough water into the container to cover the label. I had to go up high because there was this small label at the top. Make sure to put enough water into your bottle so it won't float up. The let it soak.

I had them soaking for about half an hour, which made it somewhat easy to peel off but the adhesive didn't come off, but it still took a little elbow grease, so you might want to go longer. I also recommend warm water because it worked better.

Step 2

While your bottles are soaking, you can take the time to get everything else for them ready. I got onto my computer and types out messages that I wanted to tape onto them. I wrote, "Thank You for Being the change to help us grow." ad then cut them out for each bottle. When it was time to tape them on I cut them down to better fit.

Step 3

At this point, I started raiding my change cups and piggy bank looking for enough pennies. I used about 60 for each bottle and that covered almost half an inch of the bottle, so if you'd like to cover more of it you'll need more then 60.

Step 4

Once the bottles are done soaking, you can pull them out of the water and pout the water out of them. Again, peeling them off was harder for me because wither my water wasn't hot enough of it wasn't long enough, but I dried them off and turned them upside down to get any water out of the bottle. I tried to peel the stickers off, but only one came off in one piece. The rest I used to a knife to at least peel it off of the bottle- but that's dangerous and if you're accident prone I don't recommend it.

Step 5

Once you're bottles are dry and you're in the clear to put everything into it. I taped the messages on first, then put the pennies in before putting the flowers in and presto! You have a cute little gift

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
