In January 2006, our televisions were blessed by the Disney Channel masterpiece “High School Musical.” I’m not quite sure what it was about a bunch of high school students singing and dancing on tables in the middle of a cafeteria that captured the hearts of millennials everywhere, but for some reason, we all seemed to roll with it. As I’ve gotten older (and have gotten past my disappointment over the fact that high school was most definitely NOT like the movie), I can’t help but wonder what these characters would be like if they grew up alongside the generation that started it all. So, to answer my own question, I’ve compiled this list of the 10 types of people that you meet in college, as told by “High School Musical” itself:

1. Troy Bolton

“Troy” is the guy that everyone wants to be friends with. He’s down to earth, friendly to everyone he meets and is always down to have a good time. He often has a lot on his plate between balancing academics and extracurricular activities but no matter what challenges he may face, he takes life in stride and is always there to motivate his friends.

2. Gabriella Montez

Everyone knows “Gabriella” to be an outstanding student. She makes Dean’s List every semester and places among the top students in her class. Along with her incredible GPA, she’s also well-known among students and faculty in her major’s department and is the girl you can rely on to answer the questions professors ask but nobody wants to answer.

3. Sharpay Evans

“Sharpay” has a notoriously bubbly personality and the sass to match it. She seems to be friends with everyone and is popular among her social circles. She’s likely in a sorority and can typically be found sporting her Greek letters around campus and heading fundraisers for her philanthropy.

4. Ryan Evans

“Ryan” is a loyal sidekick and friend. Though he spends a lot of his time on the sidelines, his passion and loyalty on certain issues cause him to step out of the shadows and stand up for what he believes in.

5. Chad Danforth

“Chad” is the athlete who can usually be found lifting in the weight room between classes. He’s not the smartest guy out there and has a short temper at times, but he makes up for it with his unwavering love and support for his friends.

6. Taylor McKessie

“Taylor” is academically driven and highly ambitious. She’s highly outspoken, involved in multiple clubs on campus and cares deeply about her school’s community. There’s no grass growing under this girl’s feet because once she has her eye on something, she will stop at nothing to achieve it.

7. Kelsi Nielsen

“Kelsi” is extremely timid. Though she tends to stay on the quiet side, she is a reliable friend who when worse comes to worst, will stand up for what’s right.

8. Zeke Baylor

“Zeke” is a sweet guy who is usually overlooked, causing him to often find himself in the friend zone. With an endearing personality and a sincere love for his passions, what’s not to love about him?

9. Ms. Darbus

“Ms. Darbus” is the eccentric professor that every student wants to take. She’s whimsical, eccentric and a little bit strange, but that’s all the more reason to take a class with her.

10. Mr. Bolton

“Mr. Bolton” has a five-star review on Rate My Professor because his students aren’t entirely sure if he has a degree in teaching. He treats his students as friends and is a quick way to an easy A.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
