We all are facing something we think is bigger then us

To The People That Just Don't Know

This is for the people that spend their days just going through the motions. For the ones that agree to whatever people say not because they don't care but because they don't have a opinion of their own about the topic in question. For the ones the spend nights wide awake in anxiety attacks because they see others around them finding what they want from life. This is for the ones that are in a constant state of not knowing.

Trust me I know where you're at because I'm there too. Some days I think, "Okay so this is going to work" and others it's like I'm a Target cashier on black Friday; complete chaos. I guess this typical with senior year starting in a month (how??). Trying to narrow down colleges and finding the one college that is going to allow me to go the farthest with my career interest, which I decided to change within the last year.

This is isn't going to be a rant about my crisis, because I'm not the only one facing something. We all are facing something we think is bigger then us.

Those nights when you stay up until four the next morning because you are just so stressed out everything going on in your life; work, family, friends, future. It's all in your head. Our mind has this thing of playing a dirty tricks on us and makes us believe that everything we see or hear is fifteen times worse then what it actually is. Nothing is ever really as bad as it seems.

So you've out of touch with the people around you lately. Doesn't mean you are going to end up living alone in studio apartment with nine cats to keep you company your whole life. So you feel like your spending your whole life doing the same things day after day. Doesn't mean your life won't change one day.

For most people the live and do the exact same thing, in the same town, for eighteen years and then suddenly they are thrown into a completely different world.

So don't worry your chance is coming, be patient. Enjoy the time you have before it happens because you never know when it's coming. Whether it's tomorrow or a year from now, make sure you aren't wasting your time stressing out over what will happen or when it will happen. Live in the moment and don't take the small things for granted.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
