If you're reading this article, you're probably like me--that is, you're perpetually hungry. You're likely even eating as you read this sentence. Not everyone understands what it's like to always need to eat, but for those of us who do, we share experiences in our everyday life that others just don't have.

1. "Wait, didn't you just eat [insert meal]? How are you still hungry?"

Yes, you "just" ate, but you're still hungry. You're hungry throughout the day, no matter how many snacks you've had. Deal with it.

2. You always ask the important questions.

At any social event, there better be snacks, or you're out. You make a beeline for the food table as soon as you can, and you'll often be found with a plate stacked with chips, veggies and whatever else appeals to you--if you're not hanging out in the kitchen, of course.

3. There's only one response when your friends ask you to go out for pizza.

From sunrise to sundown and any time after that, you're down to eat pizza. Or really any other food, to be honest.

4. Food is always your #1.

You prioritize meal time over other things, mainly because you know that if you're hungry at all, you won't be able to focus on the things you need to get done. Also, food is delicious.

5. Others assume you eat really unhealthily.

Not all of us who eat all the time eat junk food. I love snacking on fruits and vegetables, and I prefer baked to fried food. The number of times we eat doesn't really matter--it's all about what food and how large the portion sizes are. Of course, we all splurge from time to time, but as long as the majority of your food is healthy, it shouldn't matter.

6. The "five-second" rule is always valid. Always.

How could someone even think of wasting all that delicious food just because it touched the ground? As long as you're not eating in a bathroom stall--and if you are, there are more issues to deal with than eating food from the floor--just pick it up, dust it off and savor your meal. Hey, if babies can do it and survive, you'll be fine.

7. Your food bills can be ridiculous.

You spend more money on food than pretty much anything else. Even the most budget-savvy of us spend an insane amount of money on snacks and meals. You spot out the best deals on your faves, but even then, your eating habits cost a lot.

8. No matter what, though, you will never change your need to eat.

You love food more than most things in life, and you'll continue to eat your heart out, regardless of the haters.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
