if you're a 90s kid like me chances are that before your addiction to Disney channel and Nickelodeon, there was PBS. Here's a list of 12 great gifts from public television that truly enhanced your childhood:

1. Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

Won't you be my neighbor? You and your parents alike adored Mister Rogers and his host of puppet pals.

2. Sesame Street (and Elmo's World)

There are hardly any other child characters more iconic than Elmo, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, and of course the Cookie Monster.

3. Dragon Tales

I wish, I wish with all my heart to fly with dragons in a land apart.

If this doesn't ring a bell, you really missed out. Dragon Tales was a favorite in my house for sure!

4. Teletubbies

Sure, looking at this show as an adult it's a bit trippy or creepy, but admit it, there was something about these freakish rainbow-colored alien creatures that kept you glued to the TV.

5. Arthur

We learned a lot from Arthur and all thought our siblings were way worse than D.W.

6. Clifford the Big Red Dog

Clifford was the hero that Birdwell Island didn't deserve. Also, don't forget about story time with Speckle!

7. Cyberchase

I still wish math was as exciting as this show. Somehow they were able to make it fun in a way our teachers never could.

8. Caillou

He was a brat but we loved to watch him. Caillou still lives on today as he is now famous for numerous "dank memes."

9. Liberty's Kids

This was truly the best way to learn U.S. history. It made us want to learn.

10. Zoboomafoo

It's just me and you and Zoboomafoooooooo! PBS was probably the only reason you knew what a lemur was before you could write your own name.

11. Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat

Let's just say that you might be a true fan if you're over 20 and still know each cat's name.

12. Barney and Friends

Lastly, the list just wouldn't be complete without this iconic show that gave a start to stars we later watched on Disney channel. If the phrase "I love you, you love me..." doesn't make you tear up a little from memories of childhood, did you really have one?

Viewers like you kept these glorious shows alive, so go ahead and reminisce on the good old days. Grab a juice box and some goldfish and think back to simpler times.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
