It's All About YOU
What may work for someone else's journey may not work for yours, so why do we constantly rush ourselves in every aspect of life due to what we observe from our environment? Comparison. Whether its in terms of relationships, careers, schooling, or any goal you can make, the questions are always: "what's taking me so long?" "why is this happening for everyone else but me?" "what is my delay?" Patience can be a hard concept to grasp when everyone is constantly developing at different rates. We naturally tend to compare our situations to those around us, neglecting the fact that everyone operates at their own speed, some faster than others.
As chaotic as life is, it can be challenging to take the time out to self-evaluate and find clarity within the chaos; however, you will find when you focus on manifesting your own personal goals, at your own speed, you can and WILL accomplish more. Regardless of how similarly your path seems to align with another's, different stories hold different journeys, different obstacles, and most importantly different characters. You are the main character of your story, so the focus should remain on YOU. Instead of asking yourself why you are not in someone else's position, figure out how you can better yourself, your strategy, your work ethic, and your mindset. When we self-evaluate we are able to find all of the areas in which we lack, only then are we able to overcome them by moving differently and manifesting the character traits that will take us further. No one's journey is identical, so you must face your goals with your own personal plan.
Personal Perspective: Slow and Steady

Coming to college I had many goals and aspirations I was ready to hit the ground running with; I was so hung up on getting started early at things I wasn't even positive I wanted to do. I knew people who had connections, I knew people who had the same aspirations, and most importantly I knew people who had plans for themselves that were seemingly working in their favor. However I didn't realize, just because it works for them doesn't mean it would work for me. I put myself out there, making calls and sending emails to whoever I could find to put me in a position to get started... before I ever even stepped foot on campus (I have to laugh). Even though it was a good, open-minded approach, after being turned down for many opportunities because I lacked knowledge and experience (duh it's only my third day out here ion know), I lacked the motivation to continue and even doubted myself into a phase of everlasting negative energy. I used all of these advice I was given, had a solid plan, and was ambitious, BUT it simply was not my time yet. Without understanding this I was led into a phase of uncertainty and doubt with little to no motivation. I was at a point where I was just ready to quit and give up; because it seemed as if everyone around me was excelling but my goals were just not manifesting at the same pace, even when I used the same strategies. It wasn't until I stepped away from the chaos and gave myself time to evaluate ME, I realized my journey is unlike everyone else's. Things may take more time, may take more work, may take more ambition, may take more attention, but in the end I will be manifesting everything I seek to achieve by focusing on myself and figuring out my own path. I gave myself a break from extra responsibilities, organizations, people, distractions, and a break from worrying about what the future may hold. I gave myself time to live and focus on each moment I was in, while I was in it, rather than my mind being a step ahead or reflecting on the past. The present builds the foundation for the future. In the present we are able to find ourselves, our thoughts, what is holding us back as well as what is pushing us forward. When we give ourselves TIME to find out what we really want and what is for us is when we can begin to internally develop.
Moral of the story: Take your time. Learn yourself. Manifest. Achieve... at your own pace, in your own way.
