Ask any jew who doesn't go to a college with a very high jewish population, celebrating the holidays are hard. What's even harder? Trying to survive eight days kosher for passover. But don't you worry, Grey's Anatomy feels the struggle.
A few weeks before your parents ask you about your plans for passover which you of course forgot about because your consumed with college.
I mean can they really blame you, in the midst of all of classwork, finals, clubs, and a social life how are you supposed to remember to not eat bread?
You try to reason with them about how hard it is to stay kosher in college but you know their jewish parent guilt will win out.
No ones knows how to guilt you into doing something your supposed to do like a Jewish mother.
None the less, you end up giving in to eight days carb free.
Here we go!
You tell your parents your going to a seder on campus but you are actually at a party because they won't find out.
Passover is a celebration right? And I'm pretty sure none of the drinks being served will have carbs in it so thats a win.
You go through half a day before realizing how hard eating kosher for passover is away from home.
You have already eaten your way through the box of matzah and macaroons your parents sent you.
When you see others around campus trying to keep kosher too.
Nothing bonds two people together like both not being able to figure out what to eat when getting dinner.
But then you realize you'll be fighting over the last piece of matzah in the dining hall with them.
No one will be able to get in your way when there is only one plate of kosher food in the dining hall, that meal is yours!
Sadly, you give up two days in because like you thought, it's just so hard.
I mean give yourself props you got this far!
But you'll continue to lie to your parents so they are happy with you.
When your on the phone with your parents remember to tell them just how filling and delicious all of the matzah has been and how you wish Passover was longer!
Oh well, maybe next year is the year you stick it out all eight days.
Dance it out on a stomach full of carbs!
