A Thank You Letter To My Best Friend
Anne Breaux

Dear Best Friend,

We've been best friends for quite a while now, and I've been thinking about all of the fond memories we've created over the years. Now that we're older and have matured I look back on these memories with tears of joy in my eyes because I have made them with someone as special as you. You have always been the person to completely understand me. You have always been there for me when times got rough or I just need a shoulder to cry on. You let me complain to you, rant to you and even vent about my bad days. We can hang out in silence and it wouldn’t be awkward. You are my person, and I’m so glad I meet you. I have so much to thank you for, hopefully I fit it all in this letter for you.

First, thank you for being my friend in the first place. I know when we meet we were awkward little kids, but we turned out to be pretty awesome if you ask me. Thank you for taking silly pictures with me on the Photo Booth App (I know that is so old school now!), I still have them and look back on them every now and then. Thank you for truly getting to know me and who I am as a person. Thank you for accepting me and telling me how special I am when I feel down. Thank you for taking random, ugly selfies with me; they are my favorite. Thank you for putting up with me, even on my bad days. Thank you for giving me tons of advice when I have no idea what to say to a boy or what to do. Basically, thank you for being my person and being the best, most kind human I know.

You have truly changed my life for the better, and I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done. From the memories to our dinner dates to just chilling out watching a random TV show, everything we do is so special to me and I will treasure it forever. You have truly been the best friend I could have ever asked for. I love how we always end up laughing, goofing off and just enjoying life with each other. God know exactly what he was doing when He put you in my life. I thank God every day that you are in my life because you make me a better person. I don’t know what I would do without you; I’m so glad we met and got so close over the years, even though we are both busy bees. I know we will always find time to hang out with each other. Even if we don’t see each other as much as we used to, we always pick up right where we left off. Thank you for making so many fond memories with me and for being the best friend I could have asked for.

Sincerely,

Your Best Friend

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
