1. When an adult relative asks you how school is going.

Please stop asking me what my GPA is and pass the mashed potatoes.

2. When you finally decide to exercise and almost die.

Twenty minutes on the treadmill and you'd think you ran three marathons. Now it's time to reward yourself with pizza!

3. When you're trying to convince yourself that the pizza you just ate is making you healthy.

Who needs to eat healthy? That entire box of stuffed cheesy bread I just ate turned into energy.

4. When your parents take you grocery shopping.

When you're by yourself, you refuse to buy more than the necessities. Toilet paper? Check. Toothpaste? Sure. When your mom is buying, it's a different story. *throws retractable back-scratcher into cart*

5. When life just isn't going the way you planned.

Mom makes everything look so easy.

6. When you do something dumb and don't even try to defend yourself anymore.

Trying to explain yourself after a weekend of irresponsibility is pretty much pointless.

7. When even though you're technically one of them, you still have no idea how adults are supposed to talk.

"No, Grandpa. I don't know anything about capitalism. Please don't write me out of the will."

8. When you're trying to write your resume and it's a struggle.

I'm a student, I... please give me a job. *cries silently in a corner*

9. When you go somewhere where you're supposed to dress in something other than sweatpants.

What do you mean, I can't wear leggings and a T-shirt? What the hell even else is there?

10. When your parents wonder why you have zero participation points in class.

Going to class sounds like a good idea in theory, but I'd much prefer laying in bed watching "Friends" all day.

11. When you're trying to pretend you have your shit together.

College is hard and you really have no idea what you're doing half the time. But you know that everyone feels that way. You're doing alright, and that's all that matters.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
