I'm not the type of person who likes to admit I'm wrong, or even worse, that someone else was right, but recently I've been put in some situations that have made me realize that, if I were to admit I was wrong, I would be saying it to the two people who brought me into this world--my parents. I know they're both dying for the moment I confess they were right and can say, "I told you so!"

Here is the short list of things my parents were 100% right about:

1. "Nothing smart happens after midnight."

2. "Go with your gut."

3. "She's not really your friend."

4. "Don't wear a bra until you have to."

5. "Everyone goes through a heartbreak."

6. "A relationship is never the same the second time around."

7. "It's okay to spend time at home."

8. "You'll never get over him sleeping with your friends."

9. "High school doesn't define who you are, but it still matters."

10. "Save your money."

11. "It's okay to be single."

12. "Someday you're going to miss home."

13. "There's nothing a good glass of wine can't fix."

14. "Watch who you drink with."

15. "Bring your jacket!"

16. "You'll regret not being nicer to your brother."

17. "Never miss a chance to pee."

18. "School should always come before your social life."

19. "Being a kind person goes a long way."

20. "The girls who are popular in middle school won't be relevant in high school."

21. "Never use 'marry rich' as your go-to plan."

22. "Clean as you go."

23. "Everything in moderation."

24. "You'll regret rushing to grow up."

25. "Someday you'll understand I'm right."

So, if you haven't figured out parents are total badasses and actually do know what they're talking about, you will soon. Until then, good luck!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
