To The Parents I Don't Thank Enough, You Have No Idea How Much I Appreciate You

Mom and dad, first off, thank you.

We never realize just how much our parents truly do for us, until we go off and are on our own. Going off to college really showed me how much my parents really do for me, and I can't put into words how grateful I am for them.

Mom and Dad, first off, thank you.

Thank you for letting me go to the college of my dreams and letting me pursue the career I have always wanted too. I know Rhode Island is far away, but you never discouraged me and told me to follow my dreams. You support me no matter what decision I make and tell me I can do anything I put my mind too. I know paying for college is expensive these days, and unless you know 100% what you want to do, but thank you for being understanding when I changed my major three times. You always tell me to try my best and that's enough, and often times you are less hard on me than I am on myself if I get a bad grade, and it makes the pain of not doing well, just a little easier when I know you still support me.

Thank you for picking up the 100 phone calls a day I make to you guys at home. Being three hours away is hard, being that I have never been away from home this long, and this whole "adult thing," yeah it's not easy. Thank you for picking up my phone calls even when I know, by the seventh call in a two-hour time span, it's getting a bit annoying to see my Facetime keep popping up. From explaining to me that no I can't just eat food that has been in my cabinet, just because there is no mold, and that I can't keep my car at almost empty all the time. No question I ask ever feels like a stupid question, even though I know I ask a lot of dumb questions.

Thank you for being my best friends and being one of the few that I can always count on. I know most people think its lame to have their parents be their best friends, but I honestly don't see it that way. Thank you for going out with me to go shopping, or to just get coffee, the little things like that are what I look forward too most when I come home.

Thank you for listening to me complain for hours a week about things that really don't even matter. I know my minor inconveniences aren't something I should really complain about, but you listen anyway. But you put me in my place when I am being irrational and often keep me from making a fool out of myself. College drama isn't something that you guys should have to worry about, being that you are adults, but you still make time to listen to me and my shenanigans.

I don't know what I did to deserve such amazing parents, but you guys are my role models. You are the two most hard-working people that I have ever met, and you do so much for me, more than I can even begin to get into. I just want you to know how much I appreciate you both.

Being at school is amazing and all, but I would never have been able to do all the things I am if it wasn't for you. Thank you for keeping me grounded and teaching me how to be a hard worker. That is a skill not everyone has, but you taught me to work for the things I have, which is something I truly am grateful for.

Thank you for making me the young lady I am today, I hope one day I can repay you for all that you have truly done for me. You both deserve the world, and I will give you that someday (once I'm out of all this debt lol).

Love you more than you will ever know,

Your daughter.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
