This past Sunday I got to together with my friends for a Super Bowl party. I admit, I am not really a football fan (I was quite impressed with myself that I even knew the names of the teams playing), but I'm a big fan of the food, the half time show, and of course the commercials. I would have to say my favorite commercial this year was definitely the Pantene commercial.
Pantene partnered with NFL dads who showed how they give their daughters a "dad-do," showing how girls who spend quality time with their fathers grow up to be stronger women. The whole commercial revolved around the idea that strong is beautiful. Football players, adorable little girls, and such a sweet message! How can you not love that?!
Strong is beautiful. I love that! It is such an important message to instill into young girls. At the end of the day it is your strength that defines you. How you pick yourself back up, how you stay true to your beliefs, and how you look out for others. That demonstrates strength and that is beautiful.
I love how they incorporated the fathers. When it comes to raising a daughter, a lot of the pressure is typically put on the mother, but fathers need to step up and own what a big part they play in their daughter's life. After all, a girl's father is the first man to come into her life and every man after will be held to his standard -- make it a high standard. Show your daughter's how strong they can be.
I think Pantene nailed it! The link to the ad is below if you haven't checked it out yet.
"When you look in the mirror what do you see?"
"Me."
"That strong is beautiful."
Water works!
