Pandora Playlists to Ease Into Your Big Night Out

So you are getting ready to go out for the night. However, you are exhausted after a long day of class and are having a hard time getting pumped up. You want to go out and you know it will do you some good, but you are not quite ready to rage to “Uptown Funk” yet. What should you do to get into the mood? Listen to some music! Here are some Pandora radio stations that can take you from “tired and not really feeling it” to “ready to take uptown.”

Step 1: Jack Johnson Radio

Okay, so I know what you are thinking… this stuff is going to put me to sleep. But listening to one or two songs from mellow stations such as Jack Johnson or John Mayer radio will allow your ears to yearn for some higher energy music. Starting off with this station is simply to wake up your senses.

Step 2: Summertime Sadness Radio

Music from Lana Del Rey and Ellie Goulding will start getting you pumped up, but it will keep you from getting overwhelmed at the same time. It is the perfect music to put on makeup or do your hair to. The techno beats will get you out of your after class drag and allow you to be ready to take on the night.

Step 3: 2000’s Pop Radio (or another decade of your choice)

Past hits will not only get you singing along, but listening to old favorites is also proven to make you happier due to the nostalgia attached to it. Therefore, the happier you are, the more you are willing to go out and have a great time. Also, it is a great conversation starter if you are with a group of people. We all went through a Fall Out Boy or Panic! At the Disco phase sometime in our lives.

Step 4: Today’s Hits or Selfie or Drake Radio

This step is ultimately up to you because it is the final step. Choose a station that is going to get you most excited to go out and mentally prepare you for prowling around the streets of Oxford. Want to sing along to more pop songs? Today’s Hits will have everything from “Blank Space” to “Trumpets”. If you want more of a dance party vibe, go for Selfie radio. Despite how annoying that song is, the Pandora station is not half bad. There is also Drake radio if you want good beats and a dependable station… Drake radio never fails. Basically, listen to whatever you want – just make sure it is going to get you hyped.

After switching your Pandora stations every few songs, you will find that you are ready to take on the night. It’s like magic.

Music is the key to turning a night into a memorable one. So even when you are done getting ready and doing your pre-party activities, do not be afraid to dance, act stupid, and sing along to all of your favorite songs no matter where the night takes you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
