It's almost college time again--do you know what that means?

You guessed it! Time to pack up your entire life into the back of a car and drag all your things to school... again. You thought by now you'd be better at this, right? Me too.

But, if we're being honest, it never really gets easier. In reality, you just learn how to squish things into tighter spaces, but your actual packing skills are still pretty sub par.

This year, I'm moving into a house for the first time instead of a dorm. I thought packing for a single room was difficult-- this house thing is just crazy! In the midst of my packing procrastination in the last couple weeks, I have a compiled a list of steps to get you packed and on your way!

Step 1: Think about what you need.

This is probably the easiest part of packing. Thinking about the things you need requires little effort--you don't even have to get off the couch!

Step 2: Make a list.

Okay, now it's go time! Write down everything you thought of on the couch. This will make things so much easier!

Step 3: Cross the things off the list that you forgot you already had.

As you start to take inventory, you remember some goodies you had left over from last year. Score! Less money you have to spend this year!

Step 4: Take a trip to Wal-Mart.

Let's be honest--no one really likes going to Wal-Mart. Alas, it must be done!

You grab your list and head out the door.

Step 5: Have a mental breakdown in Wal-Mart.

You forgot how truly awful spending your own money is. $20 for sheets? $60 for printer ink?

I'm not going to cry, I'm not going to cry...

Step 6: Unwillingly hand over your card to the cashier and hope they show you some mercy.

Do you have any coupons? Come on, I've worked retail--I know you're hiding some behind the counter.

Please?

Step 7: Bring your new goodies home.

Finally home! Time to take a look at my loot. So much school supplies--things could be worse!

Step 8: Cross things off the list!

One of the best parts of packing--crossing things off your list! It's a small victory, but it means the world to you.

You're getting there. Don't give up yet!

Step 9: Actually start to pack your things.

Now the actual hard part begins. Fitting an entire year's worth of stuff into a couple suit cases? It seems impossible, but you can do it!

Step 10: Head to school!

You did it! You did it! You have successfully packed all of your things and you're on your way. Congratulations!

But wait--one more thing.

Bonus Step: Have your parents send everything you forgot.

They might complain, but you know for a fact they'll send you what you need because they love you. Though after that breakdown in Wal-Mart, the love is questionable...

In reality, there are a lot worse things than packing. Just pick a day, make yourself do it and the agony will be over before you know it!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
