So I've been to Europe one time before, and I fit all my clothes in one suit case. I know, I was impressed too! My friends and I went to Spain, Germany, UK and The Netherlands.
I even fit my Dirndl for Oktoberfest. The timing of your trip is important. Fall is great, definitely cooler, weather. Spring is beautiful also, but tricky weather because it is kind of cold and rainy, but kind of warming up. So you have to be prepared for either.
What I will change this time? I will bring less, so I can shop more!
You always think you need so much, but you spend more of your time enjoying the trip than using what you brought. So here, I have listed the top nine things I am bringing/using, and things you should consider too! (Click on the images to see where you can find these items).
1. Packing Cubes
So I just got these, and I am sure I am going to love them. It makes me lot more organized- since you will practically be living from your suit case for however many days your trip is. You don't have to buy these cubes, you can substitute any pouches you have at home. I didn't have many different sized ones so I ordered some. Pay attention to the dimension when ordering online!
2. Portable Chargers
I feel like everyone has these now-a-days, but don't forget them! They are super useful when you will be taking lots of photos, looking at maps, or searching for different places. There are tons of different sizes and brands, this is just the one that I have been using.
3. Power adapters
If you get somewhere and you need to dry your hair, this will be useful. Charging your phone is a necessity. It is easier to get one with a bunch of countries. Some of them come in separate pieces and then you have to label them or remember which one is which, so be sure to be aware of that.
or this option: it completely depends on where you are going in Europe, the time of year, and how much space you want to save in your luggage.
5. Comfortable walking shoes
I am bringing cloud-foam Adidas. I guess this is the newest technology. Comfort is key. I am pretty sure this trip entails lots of walking. A pair of boots would be good in case you want to do a nice dinner at night. Boots will dress up your outfit a bit more.
6. Go pro or any camera of your choice
Even your iPhone will take amazing photos. This is one of the most important pieces so you can remember the memories!
7. Passport pouch
I also thought of taking a fanny pack, because you could probably find one a lot more stylish than the one below. The Gucci fanny pack which is totally cute, is currently a little out of my budget. When on a time crunch this will work. I also do like this one, because I can layer it underneath my clothes. People say there are always many thief's in the streets of Europe watching the tourist. Well those thief's don't know how prepared I am. I will see them coming!
8. Accessories
One hat, I know I was thinking how do I narrow it down to just one? If you have more room bring two, but you may not be able to buy a hat there. Two scarfs, and a warm jacket. Sunglasses, to protect your eyes. A bathing suit, if you are going some where warm or having a spa day! I am going to Southern Italy. So in Naples and on the Amalfi coast I may break out the swim suit.
9. Toiletries
I think that my toiletries have become more important than my clothes lately. Maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration since I love both! I always need to have a clean moisturized face. SPF for your face is important, some ibuprofen, toothpaste, toothbrush, contacts and contact solution. Makeup for the ladies!
10. Clothes
I have decided one weeks worth of clothes is enough: three pairs of pants, one pair of shorts, two sweaters, two tank tops, three dresses and PJs; also, I would bring more underwear than I would complete outfits. Clothes can be mixed and matched, underwear really should be worn once. (That maybe an obvious concern for some of you, but others not so much). Certainly guys can pack more shorts and shirts instead of dresses.
So, now you have an idea of my packing style for my locations. I am flying into Paris, then Naples, back to Paris and UK and Paris again.
I will be in different types of climate and I try to be as best prepared as possible. I am also a "go with the flow" type of person, so it won't be a big deal if I missed something. Then it's time to go shopping!
Happy Packing, good luck, and have a safe journey!
& Most importantly have fun!
