Whether returning from a weeklong stay on the tropical beaches of Panama City, from an action-filled stay in Disney World, or even from a leisurely visit to your hometown, it is exceedingly difficult to get in the swing of school life after spring break. It seems as though we students are bombarded with exam, papers and all of the unnecessary hullaballoo professors seem pleased to throw at us. So, as you slump in class you may find yourself daydreaming of one of the most wonderful weeks in your college career and suffering from the real struggles of P.T.S.B.D. Here are eight of the multiple symptoms associated with this terrible disease.
1. Never ceasing to shut up about the trip. Three weeks out and you and your best buds are still laughing about that one time at that one place. You may even burst into a fit of laughing tears just thinking about the little incident where you made out the Domino's guy. Nothing but inside jokes and antics will fuel you and your bestie's conversations until the next road trip occurs, of course.
2. Showing off your scars. The multiple bruises and scrapes you acquired may be the only tangible evidence you still acquire from your trip. One might look down at a large bruise on their knee and smile because even though it was a terrible decision to wear wedges, it was a night to remember.
3. Readjusting your sleep schedule and situation. It's amazing the amount of sleep you get when you are not pilled four-deep on a queen bed or when you are not crammed onto a love seat with only a beach towel for warmth. Readjusting to sleeping in the comfort of your own bed with a strict bedtime may be a bit of an adjustment.
4. Food fails. It can be difficult transitioning from having a beer with breakfast back to the usual OJ in the morning. One might experience withdraw from the lack of a certain substance not constantly streaming through their bloodstream.
5. Whiny Instagram. Every Insta you post probably contains the hashtag #takemeback, paired with a stereotypical picture of you on the beach. You just cannot help but let everyone that follows you know just how amazing of a time you experience and how desperately you wish to return.
6. Employ me please. You may have enjoyed your stay so much that you wish to find permanent residency in the city at which you stayed. Craigslist will quickly become one of your most frequently searched sites as you attempt to find employment in your new favorite hideaway.
7. No shoes, no shirt, big problem. When a bathing suit top is no longer suitable daywear, all other clothing seems stuffy. All of your shoes seem too snug since they are no longer sitting pretty in the sand. Honestly, doesn't a PFG cover enough of your body to count as a tunic?
8. Your next trip is already planned and booked. You suddenly become the Priceline negotiator as you justify the upcoming trip to your parents. I mean, you missed so many things on the first trip; there just wasn't enough time! Plus, traveling is an enriching and intellectually stimulating experience, right? All of the super successful people to do it, so doesn't that mean you must also be a world traveler?
