We all stumble through life forced to make complicated decisions, Whether it be deciding what college to attend or what career to pursue. There are countless life-changing decisions that are made through our lives concerning our health, our finances as well as our way of life. While all these decisions are life changing, the large discussions tend to overshadow the smaller ones. Almost as if the daily decisions don't matter. These “small” choices are what I want to draw attention to.
Small choices such as drinking soda or having ice cream are too often dismissed as insignificant when in reality you are forming lasting bad habits that could affect you your whole life. Yes we all have our occasional “cheat food,” but cheating every day is no longer cheating, it has become a lifestyle choice. Not all small discussions snowball into a disaster for your health, some daily choices turn into positive life changes. If you dedicate to join a gym and go once or twice a week that is a small decision that can change your life forever.
The daily decisions about your health are rather standard. There are good choices and bad choices, there isn't much room for a gray area. But, then we have some small decisions that aren't so black and white. We all pick who we want to associate ourselves with, who we call a friend. We find characteristics in people that we gravitate toward and we grow a bond with that person. This is relatively small decisions that are sometimes extremely difficult to make. A friend we might love might be a negative influence and every time you hang out with them you are deciding to invest more of yourself in them. We also make decisions relating to our romantic life, sometimes we can ponder for days or perhaps even months deciding if we want to put our pride on the line and text, someone, we have feelings for. These choices may seem silly and insignificant but the reality remains that these puny choices can drastically change your life.
Take note of all your decisions and don't be afraid to contemplate even the most insignificant one.
