I'm not here to sell you on a certain political party or bash on someone else's views. I am here to tell you that as election day draws nearer, it is important to remember that neither candidate could ever be the true hope of our nation, for that position is for Christ and Christ alone.
No matter who they are and what they promise us as a nation, they are human beings too. They are not supernatural, nor do they reign over the Lord of Lords. This time is pressing, and this election has been a challenging one, but this does not determine who really is in control of this nation.
It is "In God We Trust", and we are called to respect the government no matter who this next President will be. Yes, there are views that are significant, and I am not saying that this election is not important, but I do know that there have been great and awful leaders in our world, but God is still supreme.
All I am saying is that Jesus Christ is the only one who provides us with satisfaction. For John 16:33 says, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." This election does not surprise God. it doesn't catch Him off guard or make Him anxious. For He is the author of our lives, and He knows who will win this upcoming election.
He will still be on the throne.
No election, political affiliation, or future President can save us. We need Jesus in our lives. He came to save, and He came to rule and reign over the entire Earth and in our own very lives. He is personal, and he is not limited to time. For He knows how all of this will turn out, and one thing that we can be secure in is that He never changes.
The God of the universe is not one who is inconsistent and cares for us on one day and not the next. He is persistent and all-powerful. The Lord of Lords will never be taken off of His throne, and He is so much better than any candidate has to offer.
This period is very heated in our nation, but it won't ever truly satisfy us. It is immensely important who becomes President, and I am not here to belittle this time either. My point is though that The Lord will rule whether the political party we voted for wins or not. He is the hope of our nation and our world. He is who we need to lock eyes with during this crucial time in America.
We are not to be afraid, but we are to trust in the One who promises more than any party can offer. We trust in the One that saves our souls.
During this time, please pray for the candidates, that they would know Christ because they are human beings who need salvation just like we do.
