An Orch Dork is someone who is actively involved at their school’s orchestra. Whether that be playing the instrument or your mom being Vice President of the Booster Club, you’re considered an Orch Dork! Congratulations! You’ve entered a life full of so many opportunities, experiences, and more! So, for you special Orch Dorks out there, you know you’re an Orch Dork if…
1. You had cliques throughout the orchestra.
(giphy.com)
All of the cellos hung out with the cellos, first violins with the firsts, etc. You get the picture. Each section was their own clique, or a group of close-knit friends to hang with. They have their own inside jokes and everything.
2. You had a musical prodigy in the group.
(buzzfeed.com)
You always wondered how they were so awesome. Honestly, you know why. They put in 1,245 practice hours and were just born with awesome musician genes. You had no chance! Tough luck, kid.
3. The teacher/ conductor was honestly quite hilarious and dorky, yet amazing at the same time.
(wanna-joke.com)
You’ll shake your head and laugh at your teacher because he was just talking about Atari. Oh, and so. Many. Yodas.
4. You had some occasional drama within the group of adolescent teenagers.

(rebloggy.com)
It was always the girls. Some were verbal fights, whereas others got physical. At least it made the class more interesting than it already is! Ah, I remember sweet tea was thrown across the hall one time.
5. Having a substitute meant no work was to be done that day.

They have no idea how orchestra class goes. So, of course some student is going to say something ridiculous, like the teacher lets us hang out in the practice rooms. Also, no one really listens to student conductors, sadly.
6.The viola section was the most misunderstood section in the room.

People always known you guys to be the bigger violins. I’m so sorry about that. You guys deserve so much more than that.
7. The basses were probably the coolest group of people ever.

(classicfm.com)
They were at the back of the orchestra and got away with everything! Some of them would stuff each other in the bass cases and hide.
8. Before the concert practices were always incredibly stressful.

(gifrific.com)
People would show up late, instruments would break, sheet music is lost, oh, and somehow a kid threw up in his violin case. Point is, before the actual concert was very stressful.
9. The second violins were also some of the most misunderstood in the orchestra.

(buzzfeed.com)
We were just the reject first violins. NO. I’m proud to be a second violin.
10. You had some weird inside jokes.

Hat Squad. Oreo in the cello. Dropping the bass. Literally.
11. Your bows sometimes ended up as swords or lightsabers.

(makeagif.com)
Because, why not?
12. You possibly drew weird drawings on your sheet music.

(thedailytouch.com)
You have to remember that in bar 43 there is a decrescendo that is much needed for that part to sound right! So, you drew a unicorn dragon crossbreed (?).
13. You had what you were playing in orchestra stuck in your head all day long.

(modring.tumblr.com)
There were so many days that West Side Story was in my head while taking at a test.
14.Competition days were amazing.

(giphy.com)
It’s always great to get out of school for a field trip. Competition days were stressful, but fun!
15. You miss the memories of how awesome orchestra was!
(imgur.com)
Through the trips, practices, concerts, and friendships, many of us look back and wish we could experience it all again.

However, nothing lasts forever and it was time for us to move on. We've taken these memories, friendships and talents to life after high school, whether that be university or a first job.
