Here are your songs of the week!

Nao “Bad Blood”

Hailing from the United Kingdom, singer Nao released her notable 2015 song “Bad Blood”. Not to be confused by Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood”, Nao sings about a different kind of “Bad Blood”. “Bad Blood” is a slow-tempo R&B song that is loosely about devotion in a dreamy way. Nan's vocals are soothing that she brings you in to the song and you would want to listen to this song over and over again.

David Bowie “Lazarus”

From his final album Blackstar, David Bowie releases one of his unforgettable song "Lazarus". Written by Bowie and Irish playwright Enda Walsh, "Lazarus" addresses the theme of mortality. In the light of his passing, "Lazarus" uses human narratives on birth and death, especially Biblical parable of Lazarus--dealing with life and death. "Lazarus" is a wonderful song for his fans and music world.

Long live the Goblin King.

Dal Shabet “Someone Like U”

Starting the new year, Korean girl group Dal Shabet returns to the music scene with their new song “Someone Like U”. After regrouping as four members, Dal Shabet releases “Someone Like U”, a fantastic mix of 80s and 90s sound. “Someone Like U” is a karma song, they wish their boyfriend will find someone who will treat him the same way when he dated the girls of Dal Shabet. "Someone Like U" brings a light and fun track about giving someone who mistreated you during the relationship karma. Take a listen to Dal Shabet's bright comeback.

Celestial “Rag Doll”

From wishing a lover karma, Celestial brings haunting sound of being stuck with a lover in "Rag Doll". Alternative Pop singer Celestial has released a song called "Rag Doll" from her 2015 EP, Asphyxiate. "Rag Doll" is a jazzy pop song about falling apart but needing a lover's touch like a forgotten rag doll. "Rag Doll" will give you chills with powerful lyrics and strong imagery.

Texas “In Demand”

Back in early 2000, a pop singer named Texas is driving and cuddling with a gentleman who happens to be the late Alan Rickman. They dance to her song "In Demand", which is about being with her lover--the good ol' love song. Rickman appears in the music video as an "uncredited man" who is having an affair with the singer. Despite the ending, their dance number is wonderful and romantic.

Dance the night away, Professor Snape.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
