To my best friends,
Thank you.
Thank you for the many years of friendships: for the laughs, tears and everything in between. You guys are probably the only ones who’ve seen my ugly crying face (can’t say I’m proud of that,) but I’m just glad it’s you guys who get to see it. Thank you for being one text message away when I have boy problems and showing up at my doorstep 10 minutes later in your pj’s because you knew it would take a while. Thank you for watching all the Harry Potter movies with me even though you guys aren’t as obsessed with it as I am and for watching "Les Miserables" (even though you guys were making fun of all the singing the whole time.) I’m sorry I make you guys watch scary movies in theatres all the time. Yeah, I know you both hate it, but thank you for continuing our scary movie tradition whenever I’m home (up next: Conjuring 2!)
Thank you for being one of my greatest supporters. I know we’re hundreds of miles away from each other, but one text or call and all of the sudden, you guys close that distance. College is tough, but it gets a little bit better knowing I have two great people out there whom I can always turn to 24 hours, seven days a week. The two of you even support my family. Thank you for coming to my little brother’s promotion because you know how much it means to me having more people cheer him on when they call his name.
To the best friend who always picks me up from the greyhound station, thank you. You have literally pulled through on all my last minute plans to go back home and even when you were in another country (true story, we live right next to Mexico’s border) you managed without fail to pick me up right on time and even got there before I did. To the best friend who tags along, thank you. I know you don’t need to be there when I get picked up, but you go anyway because you know how much it means to me to have the trio back together.
Thank you for visiting UCLA and spending the three-day weekend with me on the day I couldn’t go home because you knew how lonely I’d be with everyone leaving me. Thank you for coming with my family to LA to spend my birthday with me, even though you guys really didn’t have to. Thank you for being those friends who buy me sunflowers and Ferrero because you know how much I love them. And thank you for consistently being the best Valentine’s date ever.
I know there are days when we don’t talk as often as we’d like, but no matter what, I know you guys are never really away from me. Thank you for accepting my weirdness and matching up to it. But most importantly, thank you for giving me the kind of friendship that our grandchildren would be jealous of (because we’re just that great.)
Love always,
The cutest one of the group
