Dear high school best friends,
There are really no words I can use to describe how thankful I am for our friendship. I’m not going to lie -- coming to college made me nervous that I would lose my close friendship with all of you. As I continued my college career, I realized that many people do not have close relationships with their friends from home. This made me value each and every one of you even more.
We have jokes and memories that go very far back and that no one else will ever understand. The best part about having such a great group of friends like you is knowing that I always have something to look forward to when I come home. I will always treasure our late night food runs, summer nights spent just talking/laughing, and our annual beach trips. All of these memories and good times have helped shape me into the person I am today.
It hasn’t been easy to keep in touch during the past three years. Friendship is something that takes effort and something that you need to work to keep, especially long distance. It is easy to forget about people when you don’t see them for a long period of time. Thankfully, we have constantly kept in touch since graduation, whether it be ridiculous Snapchats, FaceTime dates or group text messages. I know that if I am having a stressful week at school, that I can always depend on my high school best friends to cheer me up and talk me through it. My life would be so boring if I didn’t have all of you.
As we start our senior year of college, I am honored to say that I have remained just as close with all of you as I was when came here. Our lives have all changed drastically—we have grown up, transitioned and come out of our shells—but I couldn’t be happier to have gone through college with all of you by my side, even if we are hundreds of miles apart. I can’t wait to see where life takes us, and I’m extremely blessed to say that I have my group of best friends to experience everything with. I love all of you, and I am eternally grateful for you.
Love,
Your best friend forever and always
