Hey you,

Well, where to start. You tried to tell me I would fail. You told me I couldn't go to college, that I couldn't achieve, that "people like me" were destined for failure. Time and time again you and countless other tried to tell me I couldn't do anything. Instead of letting that bring me down and letting it get to me to a point that I believed it, I did the opposite. I decided that I would stand tall, be strong, and show you and everyone else that I could do anything I put my mind to. I would just like to say, I was right you were wrong.

I am now a great student, a resident assistant, a leader, a mentor, and so much more. Thanks to you, even though you tried to do the opposite. You helped teach me that no matter if the world knocks you down, get back up and she people that they are wrong. Great things come out of trying to prove people wrong, in my experience. So thank you for motivating me to be better.

I hope that you see this and think of what you said, think of how you tried to tear me down, and see that it only made me stronger. I bet I am not the only one you tried to do this to; I'm probably not the only person you told I couldn't be successful. Well, from where I am sitting I would say I am pretty successful and happy with where I am. I feel as a junior in college that I am successful and doing the best I can. I don't know if the other people you have told this to is, but I hope they are the same. Because words can hurt and change the course of people's live. I hope you know that you can read this and show that you are doing something wrong with being this way to people. Lucky for me, you actually helped me grow.

So, I hope your doing equally as well as me.
