Dear Risk Manager,
Thank you for putting up with all of our crap. Thank you for sacrificing your fun time at formal to keep us all safe. Honestly I don’t know how you managed to look so fierce at the end of the night after running around the venue the entire time, and in a strapless dress at that. You are the definition of #flawless.
Thank you for paying attention to the insurance plan so we don’t have to. I know we all complain about all the stuff we can’t do because of that darn insurance plan, but no one wants to really read the insurance plan. Also shout out to our event planner for working around that miserable document.
Thank you for actually caring about our bylaws. I know they are important but I just can’t bring myself to care enough to honestly read them. You on the other hand voluntarily took up a position that requires reading them, and writing them. That’s a whole lot of responsibility you took up for a document we only read when it gets changed.
Thank you for making this chapter just a bit safer, even if you spend most of the time trying to save us from ourselves. There is no one in the chapter more prepared for an emergency situation than you. But seriously, I’d probably call you first in any emergency chapter related or not because you are just oh so reliable. You make it look easy.
And most importantly of all thank you for being there for the chapter. You and risk managers everywhere get the short end of the stick. You do so much for our chapter but people don’t particularly like your job. But I know you try so hard to make your position and your committee so much less scary. Still, I would never voluntarily go to one of your meetings (and I’m praying I will never have to) but I feel comfortable talking to you about risks and stuff.
You have I job I would never even want and honestly I don’t even know why you want this job. But you did take up the job of a risk manager and you rock it every day. I’m so proud to call you a sister. You are so strong and fearless and it gives me hope that maybe this chapter will survive another year.
XOXO,
The risk you manage
