There's many reasons I'm writing this letter to you. I feel like I owe you an apology for many things that have happened to you. For events that I've caused that hurt you. I have many reasons to apologize, but I also have reasons to thank you.
Dear Ainsley,
I'm sorry for pressuring you into the things that you didn't want or weren't ready for. I'm sorry for the mistakes I've caused and for the pain you felt. I'm sorry for making you fragile.
I'm sorry for treating you like less than you're worth. I'm sorry for causing the events that made you feel as if you weren't good enough. I'm sorry for being so vulnerable. I'm sorry for my vulnerability that caused you to let others control you. I'm sorry I never took the time for you to understand who you really were. I'm sorry that I made you so guarded.
I'm sorry I drove you away from God. I'm sorry I didn't give you the chance to understand His love. I'm sorry for letting you fall for the boy who broke your heart. I'm sorry for letting you trust others that broke it. I'm sorry for thinking that you were less than what you really are.
Being you was never easy, and still to this day I'm still learning more about you. You are capable of many things, and I'm sorry that I never understood that. I'm sorry that I'm tough on you sometimes. I'm sorry for never giving you the chance to be who you are supposed to be. I'm sorry that I never let people to get to know the real you. The one thing that I am the most sorry for is that it took me so long to finally understand you.
On the other hand, there are more things that I can thank you for.
Thank you for being strong. Thank you for giving yourself the chance to grow into the person that you were made to be. Thank you for taking the time to reflect on the person you want to become. Thank you for knowing what you want. Thank you for standing up for yourself.
Thank you for accepting your mistakes and taking responsibility. Thank you for giving God the chance to come into your life. Thank you for allowing God to show His love and grace. Thank you for never settling for a person who does not love you, the way that you deserve.
Thank you for learning to appreciate the people who love and care for you. Thank you for getting rid of toxic relationships. Thank you for being patient and for trusting in God's plan. Thank you for never giving up on yourself. Thank you for pushing yourself into being the best that you can be.
Most of all, thank you for loving yourself.
Sincerely,
Yourself
