Hey you,

I found myself thinking about you today, just like any other day. I thought about what life would be like if you were here. I thought about all the time we used to spend together. I thought about your smile, and it made me smile. When you were here, I took advantage of how much you meant to me. I guess I never thought the day would come that I would have to say goodbye. I see things in a different perspective now that you’re not here. Though I know you’ll never get to physically see this article, I hope that somehow you know about it, and you know that I miss you and papaw more than anything.

It breaks my heart that you aren’t here. I wish you could be here to see me now. I am so blessed that you’re watching over me, but I feel like it’s been a lifetime since I’ve seen you. Four years just seems like too long ago. I hope I’m making you proud. I wish you could’ve seen me graduate high school. I wish you could've seen me get baptized. I wish you could be here to see me graduate college. I wish you and papaw honey could be here to see me get married and start my own family. I wish you were here to see how close Kennedy and I have gotten, I know you always wanted us to be friends. I wish you could see me so in love with Jesus, I know you’d be so happy.

I wish I could hug you one last time. I miss hearing your voice on the phone. I miss hearing my parents tell me that you told me to come visit, because papaw missed me. I miss riding in the wagon pulled by your lawn mower, because no matter what I was doing, I loved spending time with you. You taught me how to find happiness in things that really mattered; in Jesus, in family, and in friends. Though life often threw things at us, you showed me how to stay strong and have faith that the best was yet to come.

I just wanted to say thank you… Thank you for teaching me how to live life through your example. Thank you for showing me Jesus’ never-ending love before I ever accepted it. Thank you for all the time we spent together, just proving to me that nobody will EVER be as special as you. Thank you for the countless games of checkers, and always letting me win. Thank you for being such a Godly example to not only me, but to everyone who knew you. Thank you for being my granny..I couldn’t have asked for a better one.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
