Hey, dad.
Sometimes I may make it seem like I don’t say “thank you” or “I love you” enough, so I wanted to take this time to write to you. As I get older, the more I think about all of the times we have had together, all of the daddy-daughter dates, the failed fishing attempts, the trips to the zoo, our frequent Waffle House breakfasts, and many many more. I may tell you a lot how much I appreciate those times, but just telling you is not enough. Those times I am more than appreciative for, I am more than thankful for. You have shown me what love is, dad. You have shown me what care and compassion are. You have shown me what trust is. I cannot thank you enough for that.
Every girl has heard the quote, “A dad is the standard the daughter will judge all men.” In my case, dad, you have set the standard very high. I know that you want what is best for me, and that keeps me motivated to never settle for less than what I deserve. You tell me how much I am worth and that whoever cannot see that about me I do not need. You tell me that no guy will ever be good enough for me, because I am your little girl. Well, I promise I will always be your little girl, dad. No number of birthdays will ever change that.
All of this to say, dad, you mean more to me than you will ever know. You inspire me to work hard and never give up on anything I know will be worth it in the end. You are my role model, and I love you more than words can ever say.
Thank you for everything, dad. I love you.
