Yes, I know there are thousands of articles out there of people assuring you that they’ve got the best friends in the world or how their best friends are better than yours. Yeah, we’ve all read them and thought the same thing each time. But sometimes, people just need to be reminded of their impact on others, and how much harder life would be without them. So here we are; add this one to the thousands of others.

To My Best Friend,

I would say I apologize for writing this, because I know sappy and cheesy are totally not your thing, but sometimes things need to be said, and you know I’ve got a weak spot for this type of thing, so no, no apology, because I’m hoping this makes your day a little brighter. Everyone could always use an extra smile.

Let me just say, you rock my world. As if you didn’t already know. I’ve had a lot of love in my life: family, friends, boyfriends, whoever. But you know there’s always that one person who just seems to get you, who understands, who is so reliable and loyal and you just know they’ll always stick around through good and bad. These days its rare; we live in a world where people prioritize the wrong things. So here’s to you:

For always being there for me from miles away when times go well and when times get rough, and know, I'll always be there for you.

Thank you for letting me make fun of you and listening to me when I say it's time to shut up.

Thank you for bringing me out of my comfort zone, and for believing in me when usually I don’t.

For laughing at my rarely funny jokes, and enjoying them all anyway.

For always being down to hang out, whether we are just sitting on our phones and not speaking, or ditching the party for the night when one of us isn’t feeling it. As long as we're together then we're bound to have a good time.

For always telling me the truth, even when you know it's going to hurt me.

Thanks for always being my go-to girl to vent to, about countless boy drama and the fear of gaining weight. I appreciate, though you know I didn’t listen, even when I knew you were right.

For giving me the best advice, and being the one person I can always rely on to cheer me up.

For knowing that once I find you in boy form, (maybe a little less annoying (still-ily)) then I know I should never let go.

I couldn’t have made it through so much without you, and I hope to do the same for you. I appreciate you and love you to pieces. I'm always here with open arms and will do my best to make you happy.
