Dear Britney (bitch),

I still think womanizer is an A1 song, thanks for publicly calling out f*ckboys before the rest of us caught on. Not the first example of you being ahead of your time. The classic '07 spears look is also what all of us late teens/early twenties kids are headed towards now.

Britney, you are truly a trendsetter.

Not only were you able to call out men for wasting your time, you were confident as hell while you did it. Turning the tables on the classic guy and girl dynamic before it was acceptable to do it, confidently claiming your own desires. Britney also was ahead of the body suit trend (peep her music video for 3).

Britney, you are what all the progressive stars today strive to be. Forward moving, no f*cks given, absolutely iconic. I guarantee if you were to ask anyone of any age to name a Britney Spears song at least 85 percent of them would be able to.

Britney, You have managed to engrave yourself in not only my age group's childhood, but also the younger children. My seven-year-old sister still thinks "Scream And Shout" was the best song ever, even though it isn't because everything after 2009 kind of sucks.

But not you! You're still inspirational, raising two kids, out of the immediate spotlight, but still great enough to jump right back in if you wanted.

Britney will always be on my radar. And Madonna's of course. Who could forget the iconic make-out performance? Or the Pepsi commercial? The 2001 MTV music awards?

Even if she lip syncs, she's good at it. Bad Britney even looks good, who could forget the jess (jean dress).

Hit us baby one more time with that beautiful Britney bodaciousness. We are all feigning for more Britney Badness. I think Britney could make the world good again.

Britney was the beginning of a revolution. A revolution of womanhood. If not for Britney, who would have taught 8-year-old me that I can be crazy and own it. Not only that, I could be crazy and people would love it, people would want more, people would think it was the hottest thing ever! Thank you, Britney, for being batshit crazy but also the biggest badass. She paved the pathway to sexiness!

Britney is what I aspire to be. Thank you, Britney for being an inspiration, even though you weren't necessarily trying to.

So to Britney:

Hope you're doing well, Hope your kids are as great as their mom, hope you drop some songs on us soon, we all still miss you.

Keep slaying, and hope to see you in Vegas soon.

Sincerely,

The circus (AKA your fanbase)

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
