The other day I saw an especially disturbing meme.
I can't find it again now, so I'll try & describe it: it went something like "if [you meet a woman that's your type/shares your interests], you've gotta catch her with a Pokeball. Catch her. With a pokeball. Because, obviously, women are just like Pokemon. It was such a ridiculously, idiotic joke-meme and it made me want to say this:
To men–yes *ALL* men,
Women are people.
People are people.
They are not things.
You can't own other people.
People own themselves.
In other words, stop trying to possess and control women.
And stop operating this way under the pretense that it's because you love, or care about them.
Because that's not how either of those things work.
And while you're at it, stop blaming women for the things that men do to them.
Start holding men accountable for the way that they treat women.
And I know that you've heard women say this before.
And I know that you haven't been listening.
But you need to start.
Otherwise you'll end up getting punched, by me. Like that Spence-Nazi.
