Hey there,
First of all, congratulations! You are almost done with high school. From here on in, all you probably have left are a few projects, a couple finals, and some fun activities.
It really isn't that simple though. On paper, it might seem like you are almost done, but you know in your head all of the different things you have left to do. Those projects are a big deal. And having to take finals is really daunting. You probably feel overwhelmed. I completely understand because I am right there beside you. I hardly sleep at night because my mind is racing about all that I have to get done before I can walk across the stage and receive my diploma. You are trying to keep your grades up in all of your classes because you don't want to be that senior that slacked off at the end of the year.
I want to remind you of something though. This is the end of your senior year. You don't have many exciting things left. Maybe you have prom coming up. Or you have a senior night for softball, baseball, or track. Maybe you have one last speech competition or one last performance with the school choir.
But after that, it's over. Please, do yourself a favor and don't get all caught up in all of the not-so-fun things that you have left before graduation. Cherish the few fun activities remaining. Don't let them pass by. Be present in the moment with your friends and classmates. Do that for them and for yourself. It might be the last time.
I'm not saying to blow off finals or graduation projects or homework. What I am saying is enjoy the last few weeks of your senior year. You only have one senior year, take it for all its worth.
You will graduate. You will receive your diploma.
Love,
A fellow Senior
