Hi Beautiful,
Isn't life such a phenomenal thing? One minute, you're in this amazing, picture-perfect relationship and the next, it's in pieces. Trust me, I went through it. I made it. In all honesty, I'm not here to tell you that you'll be perfectly fine the next day, but I am here to say that you WILL make it through.
Trust me, I know what you're going through. I've been there. Those late nights when your thoughts seem to be eating you alive, the constant tearing yourself apart inside wondering what you did wrong, and feeling alienated from friends because they "just don't understand." I remember the first time I saw my ex with another girl on social media, all I wanted to do was to stay locked up in my room for the rest of my life.
It's more than fine to take your mind off of it for a few days. Try to distance yourself from social media and just use the time to build yourself back up. After my break-up, some things I enjoyed doing were watching Netflix, eating junk food, and just calling my friends and venting. I understand that it's hard. So take as much times as you need to just binge-watch Netflix with an extra large tub of ice cream.
But sooner or later, reality's gonna set back in and all of that pain will come flooding back. I really hate to say this because you probably don't want to hear it but I have to tell you to "suck it up". Honestly, there's no sugarcoating when it comes to break-ups and the only way to get through them is to learn from the past and move on. You may not believe this now, but time really does heal all wounds. It won't take you a day to get over it and it surely won't take you a week. Just take it one day at a time, I promise you, they will add up.
So, with that being said, appreciate each day. Find activities that make you happy and you'll see, time will pass. With all the painful memories put to rest in your past, you will be so happy with the person you've become. You made it. You're resilient. You truly deserve nothing but the absolute best and I pray you'll find that one day.
Sincerely,
A Friend Who's Rooting for You
