Dear Me,

I know that it is the summer before college and you have no idea what you are about to get yourself into, but I am here to tell you that you shouldn't be worried. Yes, you might be moving to the other side world by yourself, but trust me when I say that your American counterparts are just as scared as you are.

Life has a few major transitions for you in store and going off to college is one of them. It might sound like a clichƩ, but college really is the time of your life where you get to discover who you truly are. You meet new people, have new experiences and will be living on your own for the first time. This is something you will have in common with all the other girls that will live on your floor and quite frankly, 90 percent of all the incoming freshmen.

I know that for you though two major changes in your life are happening at the same time, you are not only leaving for college, you are leaving your home country. I am not going lie, so I will tell you that yes you will struggle with English not being your first language and yes you will miss home from time to time. But I am also here to tell you that you will master the English language and at the end, you wouldn't want to go back home so desperately anymore.

This is going to be your time and you will blossom. You will grow more as a person than you would ever thought possible. You will make friends that come from all over the world and will be challenged in ways that make you stronger, smarter and better. Most importantly, you will become your own person.

By becoming your own person, I don't want to imply that you are someone else's person now. What I mean to say is that the ties that have always bound you to your home and everything you have ever known will be loosened. The umbilical cord will be cut and you will have to start all over. You might be a bit unstable on your feet at first, but the pride you'll get when you finally learn to balance your life on your own is a feeling that can't be compared to anything else.

Trust me when I tell you that you will gain a lot of really close friends and will change for the better. You might be unsure at the moment if this is the right thing to do, that maybe you should just be doing what all your peers are doing, but stop worrying. You are making the right decision. There is a reason you applied to schools in America, there is a reason you wanted this in the first place. Trust your gut on this one, because this is going to be the thing you have ever done and perhaps will ever do.

The best advice I can give you is to remain calm and have faith in yourself and your abilities. You got this girl, go and live your dream!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
