Dear Smart Phone,
I would like to start off by saying thank you for all you have done for me. I could say thank you for making sure I was always at the right place at the right time. I could say thank you for making sure all my friends and family can contact me on countless sites. I could say thank you for basically taking care of my life for me. I should say this, but I can’t.
Let’s face it, you are full of flaws. Your battery drops from 98 percent to 20 percent in a blink of an eye. My alarm blares in the middle of the afternoon to tell me that it is early morning and “Time to wake up!” You freeze for no reason and the only way to fix you is by restarting you and hoping that everything is fine once you're up and running again. Let’s not forget to mention how often you force me to delete and reinstall apps because they just weren’t working for you. It's a frustrating cycle, but really that's not the worst of it.

The most terrible feature you have has to do with all of your features, good and bad. You are my alarm clock, agenda, communication device, and I'm afraid we have a problem. Smart Phone, you are taking over my life. Every decision I make has to be made through you and for your benefit. Everywhere I go must have WiFi and outlets. You no longer allow me to enjoy time alone without notifying me about someone’s new post or liked picture. It can’t keep going on this way. I believe we need to lessen this madness.
Smart Phone, please don’t take any of this out of context. You are an incredible piece of technology and very helpful during the school year. However, I’m afraid you and I need some space. No more notifications. No more alarms. No more outlet searching. It’s finally summer, and I want to enjoy the time I have with my family and friends. So enjoy all the rest you’ll get this summer, Smart Phone. I know I will.
