My last fall semester as a college student is coming to an end and I couldn’t help thinking about all the professors I’ve had during my four years. I’ve had both good and bad professors, that’s college for you. I’ve been lucky enough though to have that one amazing professor who helped inside and outside of the classroom. Looking back I realize I couldn’t have done it without you, so this letter is dedicated to you.
Thank - you for being tough, but always fair.
There was no easy way to pass your class. You expect a lot from your students, which I can’t say the same about other professors. You aren’t an easy professor, but I love that because I have learned so much from your classes.
Thank - you for always leaving your door open.
I know it’s a requirement for professors to have office hours, but not every professor goes beyond the requirements. Thank - you for keeping your door open even when you could’ve closed it; it shows that you care.
Thank - you for helping me realize what I want to do.
I came into college wanting to be a physical therapist, but soon realized that wasn’t for me. You made me realize that what I truly wanted to do was help people in any way that I can.
Thank - you for being more than just a professor.
You were more than just a professor to me. You were my advisor, my mentor, and someone I look up to. Every single day you go above and beyond what is expected of you. You don’t treat your students as just another face in your classroom and for that I thank you.
You probably don’t get told this enough but thank you. Thank you for every single thing you do. You are a blessing to your students, your school, and everyone around you. But most importantly thank you for helping me get through college, I couldn’t have done it without you.
Thank you.
